Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling based martial art. Working with a partner in class, one will learn submissions (attacks), escapes, holds/pins, take downs, and throws. We have an awesome staff of coaches that are welcoming and friendly. We are teachers at heart and prioritize a safe but physically taxing class that is for both competitors and brand new students. This class is taught in the Gi (uniform/belt) but trial students can wear basic athletic attire to try out class.
No Gi Grappling (rash guard and shorts) follows a similar curriculum cycle as our BJJ classes with greater emphasis on leg locks over our 6 week curriculum cycle. When training leg entanglements and submissions, we take our time so that grapples of all levels can safely improve.
Classes are typically 40-60 minutes training techniques/concepts with varying degrees of resistance and goals with a partner. The coach will help the trial student find an appropriate partner for trying class. Class is followed by optional grappling rounds. New members are encouraged to train for a few weeks before live grappling are welcome to stick around to work with coaches/high ranks after class.
